In 2007 Lorcan Daly’s work was selected at GCSE level for the CCEA “True Colours” Exhibition which was show cased in February 2008. His work was chosen along with a select number of other students as an example of some of the best student art work throughout the Northern Ireland. This in itself is a tremendous achievement. Representatives from the Arts Society of Ulster attend the exhibition each year and choose a winner and runner up from the work exhibited at GCSE, AS & A2 Level. As a result Lorcan’s work was selected as Runner-up at GCSE Level. His work has since been displayed at the 12th Annual Exhibition of the Arts Society of Ireland which was previewed on Friday 29th August. Lorcan was presented with a certificate and a cheque. It was a very prestigious event with established contemporary artists such as Neil Shawcross and Bill Gatt in attendance.
