In 2007 Lorcan Daly’s work was selected at GCSE level for the CCEA “True Colours” Exhibition which was show cased in February 2008. His work was chosen along with a select number of other students as an example of some of the best student art work throughout the Northern Ireland. This in itself is a tremendous achievement. Representatives from the Arts Society of Ulster attend the exhibition each year and choose a winner and runner up from the work exhibited at GCSE, AS & A2 Level. As a result Lorcan’s work was selected as Runner-up at GCSE Level. His work has since been displayed at the 12th Annual Exhibition of the Arts Society of Ireland which was previewed on Friday 29th August. Lorcan was presented with a certificate and a cheque. It was a very prestigious event with established contemporary artists such as Neil Shawcross and Bill Gatt in attendance. Congratulating Lorcan is Mr Dermot McGovern, Headmaster and Ms Orlagh Hughes, Acting Head of Art.
