The Northern Ireland final of the General Consumer Council Competition was held on the 5th March in Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn, and was won, for a remarkable third time in the last four years, by the Abbey Grammar School.

The team of Steven Rice, Paul Henning, Colm O’Grady and Paul O’Hare beat off intense competition from Ballymena Academy, Methodist College, Belfast, and Thornhill College, Derry to win comfortably in the end, despite being behind going into the deciding round.
