Macdara O’Graham is the Ulster champion in Gael Linn’s public speaking competition for 2003. He competed in the SELB area heat (hosted in St. Colman’s College) and qualified for the Ulster Final, which was held in the Cardinal O’Fiaich Memorial Library in Armagh. Altogether over 70 candidates at GCSE took part in the area heats and the Ulster Final and Macdara was judged to be the best. Not only did the three adjudicators think so, but so too did the capacity audience of students and teachers on the day. Macdara’s speech was original and very humorous and clearly enjoyed by all who heard it.
