ABBEY GRAMMAR STUDENTS CELEBRATE OUTSTANDING RESULTS Mr D. McGovern - Headmaster

On Thursday 14th August, 100+ boys from the Abbey Christian Brothers Grammar School in Newry were delighted to receive their excellent A Level and AS results.

Their achievements were published in the national league tables in the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail, ranking 86th place in the United Kingdom.

School principal Mr Dermot McGovern said

“I would like to congratulate each and every student on these excellent results.”

“I am sure that parents are proud of their son’s achievements and I must also thank in a very special way all the staff of the school who continue to devote so much time and effort into the total educational development of the pupils entrusted to their care.”

Mr McGovern continued, “The school provides the widest range of A Level subjects possible, allowing pupils to choose areas of study which reflect their individual interests and talents. “These results, together with the outstanding AS results obtained by Lower Sixth students, confirm the very high standard of teaching and learning evident in the Abbey,” he concluded.
