ABBEY PUPILS PREPARE FOR OXFORD AND CAMBRIDGE

Mr. Dermot McGovern, Headmaster, Abbey Christian Brothers’ Grammar School, Newry congratulates four past pupils for being accepted into either Oxford or Cambridge Universities following their outstanding A-level results. Stephen Begley is going to Cambridge University. Philip Knox, Sean McClory and Kevin McManus are going to Oxford University.

Four pupils from the Abbey Christian Brothers’ Grammar School, Newry are packing their bags to go to two of the most prestigious universities in the world. Top pupil Stephen Begley achieved 5 A grades in his A-level examinations and shall be studying Natural Sciences at Cambridge University. He studied Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics at A-level and went to Dromintee Primary School.

Philip Knox achieved 4 A grades in English Literature, History, Music and Physics. He shall be studying English Language and Literature at Oxford University. He is a past pupil of Carrick Primary School, Warrenpoint.

Sean McClory also achieved 4 A grades. His A-level subjects were History, Irish, Mathematics and Music.He shall be studying Law at Oxford University and is a past pupil of St. Joseph’s Primary School, Poyntzpass. Kevin McManus achieved 4 A grades in Business Studies, History, Mathematics and Physics. He shall be studying Mathematics and Statistics at Oxford University. Kevin is a past pupil of St. Dallan’s Primary School, Warrenpoint.
