Abbey students have been excelling themselves in recent Cross-Country events. At the Newry and Moume Cross Country Championships held in Kilbroney Park, individual Abbey Students were placed third in each of the Boys' races: Mark Cox, Individual Third Place U 13, Niall McCartan, Individual Third Place U15 and Shane Kerr, Individual Third Place Over 15. The Boys' U 13, team came first in their competition, the team comprising Mark Cox, Shay Miller, Fearghal McEvoy and Liam Gray.

Further success was achieved at the CBS All-lreland championships in Dublin where the Abbey had individual First and Second in the U 14 event, (First - Niall McCartan, Second - Ryan Hudson). The Boys' U14 team won the team event with Andrew Fitzsimmons and Niall Daly also finishing strongly.
