Pupils from the Abbey Grammar School excelled themselves before Christmas when they responded to the neighbouring Hospice (St. John of God's) in their appeal for financial help.

Various activities were organised to raise funds for this local Hospice Appeal: "The Copper Coin" appeal, a Carol Service in St. Mary's Chapel, and the estimation of the number of Smarties in a 550 piece jigsaw (won by Emmett Fearon), and other events.

The fund raising was organised by Dr. Sean Fee (Head of Science) in the Abbey Grammar School.
