For A'level Maths in the Abbey a student needs to have achieved either of the following:
A/A* in GCSE Maths
or
at least a B in GCSE Maths and a C in GCSE Additional Maths.

The exam is prepared by the Edexcel Exam Board.
There is 6 modules that need to be completed.
Although THE ABBEY offer 7 different modules and the student will select 6 of these to complete A' level or 3 to complete an AS level.
These are the compulsory modules which the students must complete:

• P1:- Pure Mathematics 1
• P2:- Pure Mathematics 2
• P3:- Pure Mathematics 3
• M1:- Mechanics 1
• M2:- Mechanics 2

Then after that the student will choose his final module from the following two:

• M3:- Mechanics 3
• S1:- Statistics 1

In the past, the most common combination of modules selected by a student was:
P1; P2; P3; M1; M2; S1

The modules studied in 6th year are:
P1; P2; M1
The module studied in 7th year are:
M2; P3; S1/M3

Although in the past some intelligently challenged students have completed an extra module in 6th year so that they get their A' level finished in 1½ years.
